Dr. Laima Varzgaliene

Dr. Laima Varzgaliene, is originally from Lithuania, where she obtained her Master’s degree in Medicine. She moved to Ireland in 2010. After gaining experience in hospital medicine in Ireland, she completed her specialist training as a GP through the Western Training Programme in General Practice in Galway and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners.

Dr Laima has undertaken further specialist training in Contraception, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She holds a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, along with advanced certificates in Family planning and Contraception, and is a registered Cervical Smear taker. 

Since joining the practice in 2017, Dr Laima focuses on Women's health, Family planning, and Menopause management. She is skilled in the insertion and removal of Implanon and Mirena contraceptives.

Her holistic approach to general practice extends to Antenatal care, Paediatrics, Men’s Health, Disease Prevention and the Care of the Elderly. She also has an interest in Arthritis and performs joint injections. Her clinical research background compliments her medical practice.
